Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.
Before and After School Care
YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care are available at Padstow Heights Public School.
Mornings run from 07:00am to 08:45am. Afternoons run from 3:15pm to 6:00pm.
Vacation care operates during the school holidays from 07:00am to 6:00pm.

School concert band
Student can learn to play an instrument and be part of our school band. The cost is approximately $200 per term and includes tutorials, instrument hire and band lessons.
Drama program 2020
A 10-week drama program, run by external vendor Let It Shine, is offered to students across K-6 at a cost of $40 for one term.
Dance
Dance groups are offered at lunchtimes on Monday and Thursday by an external provider (Dancezone).
Dance groups, run by staff are also offered as part of preparation for the Bankstown District Dance Festival in October each year. Dance groups included are: K-2, Years 3-4, Years 5-6 and a boys dance group (Years 2-6).
PSSA sport teams
Padstow Heights Public School offers a variety of PSSA sports for year 3-6 students through the academic year. These include Basketball, Soccer, Cricket, T-ball, Softball, Netball, AFL, Rugby league, Touch football and Newcombeball.
Bushwalking
Bushwalking is offered to year 3-6 students in season 2 (winter). Students get to participate in bushwalks in the surrounding St. George area.
Physical Education
In 2020 all classes will take part in a 10 week fitness program incorporating gymnastics and co-operative team games. This program will be run by FitFutures at a cost of $50 per student.
Swimming Lessons
K-6 students have an opportunity to participate in a 10 week swimming program each year.
Scripture
At Padstow Heights PS Special Religious Education (SRE) and Special Ethics Education (SEE) are offered on Tuesday mornings for 30 minutes, from 9:20 – 9:50am.
Students who do not attend these classes work in another area of the school. Years 3-6 non-scripture students work in the library and Kindergarten to Year 2 students work in 1D/1H double room. Activities include quiet reading, story writing practice and work completion.

Protestant – this scripture group is under the banner of Youthworks and is run by a cooperative group from the following churches- Anglican (Padstow); Baptist (Padstow); Uniting Church (Panania) and Church of Christ (Padstow).

Ethics Education
In 2019, Special Ethics Education (SEE) is offered for Stage 3 and for Stage 1. We currently have two community members trained to teach the Ethics program. Hopefully these two groups will continue to be offered in 2020.

STEM
All students at Padstow Heights are involved in STEM programs. STEM is an approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Through STEM, students develop key skills including: problem solving, creativity, critical analysis, teamwork, independent thinking, initiative, communication and digital literacy.
STEM lessons include, but are not limited to: coding, robotics, design projects, group projects, science experiments and movie making.
Canteen
